Who we are:

Love Lochs and Landscapes is an environmental social enterprise.  Our mission is to connect you to how you can make sustainable choices when you visit Loch Lomond and Trossachs in Scotland.

The problem:

Another great photo capturing the stunning natural beauty of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. What the photo doesn’t convey is that the environment can’t sustain the impact of visitors unless we change our habits.  Through considering your actions you can make a difference to help protect and maintain these beautiful lochs and landscapes.

In 2020 you adapted to changing the way you work, socialise, school, shop. Now you can continue to reshape the way we live, through helping to preserve the quality of our natural landscapes, places where we can all enjoy leisure.

Here is what can you do to minimise your impact on the environment when you visit Loch Lomond and Trossachs.

Step 1 – Reduce what you consume. Bring your reusable water bottle and hot drink cup. Local businesses will support using reusables. Recycle your waste and minimise what ends up in landfill. Use waste bins, local recycling schemes or take it home. Do not litter. A plastic bottle is not the legacy visitors will want to see in 450 years.

Step 2 – Plan your travel. Consider alternatives to always travelling by car. There are networks of cycle paths including NCN7 and West Lomond Cycle path. Bikes and ebikes can be hired, electric charging points are available. As well as public transport links there are waterbus routes on Loch Lomond.

Step 3 – Consider what you do. Learn about where you visit through leisure. Discover native wildlife and their habitats through creative walking trails. Explore the species of plants and trees whilst climbing a hill. Take part in conservation, watch, listen and understand your impact whilst spending time in the great outdoors.
